-lost wars-aborted babies-ended marriages-stopped schooling-failed diets-sabotaged sobriety-caused bankruptcy-abandoned children-lost jobs-lost hope-ended friendships-stopped medical treatments-pulled the plug on happiness.......and on and on and on......
And yet we still allow it ultimate power in our lives.
We are helpless victims lost in the power and gravity of 4 words that alter your mindset.
Once you have it in your head that "you can't" you probably won't.
This post is for me probably more than you because lately those words ring in my head with the highest pitch of:
A fat viking clad Opera singer
Breaking all the glasses of positive thought
But "I can't do this!" CAN be used effectively when dealing with situations of questionable moral or legal outcome, so don't feel sorry for banishing these words too much, they will get their use.
Let's all go on a "word diet"...cut:
"I can't do this!"
down to
"I can!"
A 50% caloric word savings!!!!!!
(now you can eat more of your stupid words!!)
Or maybe
You are too "word skinny" already or don't feel like you could handle the guilt of banishing that sentence from your everyday vocabulary,,,,,,,, you could try:
"I can't do this as easily as I thought I would be able to."

I had to kick the can't a few days ago. I was done with thinking things weren't going to change, so I changed it from "I can't do this" to "I can't let you do this to me, and I won't."

I like the style of your posts alot. You got yourself some 'moxie' thats for sure.
Why say you can't and give up? Where is the fun in that? How else can I release what is stored in the 'Well of my Bitterness' if I don't struggle against my own failures because for every tiny victory, no matter how small I get to make that 'face'. You know the one. The one the 'man' hates to see, the one the gods and devils, who take glee in our misery, are pissed off the most to recognize in our eyes. It's why we will always be better than the sum of our disappointments - they are stuck where they are and we can always take that ONE more step that gets us closer to the goal.
